Ryan Ozimek is the President of Open Source Matters, the non-profit organization managing the Joomla! project's legal, financial, and marketing operations. Joomla! is one of CMS Expo's featured CMSes for 2011.
Ryan is the Co-founder and CEO of PICnet, Inc. In the eight years since the founding of the company, PICnet has grown from a graduate school idea and concept into one of the most recognized and trusted names in the open source non-profit technology field. Under his management, PICnet has forged relationships open source technology giants, such as the Joomla! project (www.joomla.org) in an effort to provide organizations the sophisticated and affordable services.
Ryan has guided PICnet through a natural evolution in open source business models, including custom development, support services, and currently software as a service (SaaS) models. This business experience, coupled with his work at Open Source Matters (the non-profit supporting the Joomla! project), Ryan has a strong knowledge base of successful lessons learned and best practices for open source business model development.
Ryan has a BA in Communications and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
Ryan gave a Keynote and he lead the Future Roadmap: Joomla session at the 2010 CMS Expo.
At the 2011 CMS Expo in Chicago, Ryan will once again offer his insights to CMS Expo attendees during the Founders Panel Monday morning as well as at the Monday Night Meetup on Monday evening. Ryan will be delivering the Tuesday morning keynote.
