John and Linda Coonen co-host the annual CMS Expo. Armed with over 25 years in marketing, fundraising and planning for start-ups, political campaigns, associations and non-profit organizations, John and Linda launched the CMS Expo conference in 2008.
Linda's analytical background in market research, project management and fundraising, combined with John's creative background in design, writing and broadcast media make for a powerful combination. That said, it was really their combined experience in the volunteer world - their church, the local food pantry, their user group and the US Jaycees - which they credit for breathing life into CMS Expo, giving it an authentic sense of community, with a genuine purpose.
With the help of a generous cast of supporters on a local, national and international level, John and Linda have spent several years nurturing and growing a high-tech community that's uniquely high-touch. Their grass-roots approach toward building an authentic international tech community has resulted in a series of highly engaging and energizing events that re-defines what today's "tech business" is all about.
