Bill Tomczak is Chief Curmudgeon for his own firm, Boulder-based Grumpy Engineering.
Bill Tomczak has racked up over thirty years in technology, and despite the name of his firm, he still loves his job (take a look at his photo, and you'll see). He has a passion for dynamic, data-driven websites and database analysis and design. Bill programs primarily in php and javascript and has extensive experience with Visual FoxPro, VB for Applications, ASP, Cold Fusion, and AJAX. During the last several years, he has increasingly focused on creating Joomla! sites and writing extensions for Joomla!. He began programming in FORTRAN and assembly languages in 1970.
Since then, he has had a wide ranging experience with technology and its practical application. Bill lives in Boulder, Colorado, serving national clientele. Beginners and advanced users alike will learn a great deal from Bill's thirty-plus years.
Bill was part of the Joomla CMS KickStart Program team and the presenter on Joomla Components and Modules at 2008 CMS Expo held in Denver. Bill presented Data-Basics: Database Foundations For CMS at the CMS Expo Chicago 2009. Bill also trains for Atlanta-based Open Source Training Inc.
