Ahh, the often overlooked, taken-for-granted, and rarely understood database. The receptical of any self-respecting CMS. The repository of every last bit of information you're creating - from text to audio, video and so much more. Without it, the content has nowhere to go; our searches would turn up nothing; and entire sites would collapse under the weight of their own php code.

How much time to we invest in knowing about the database? If MySQL were to magically disappear from the face of the earth, would we have other platform choices on which to put our trust?

What better way to learn the strengths and weaknesses of a database than to hold a Head-To-Head comparison? Come to this highly info-taining CMS Expo Interactive Panel Discussion, moderated by the one and only Mitch Pirtle.  The first segment of this session will provide participants with a framework of knowledge to put "the CMS database" into context, answering basic questions about how databases work; then, we'll dig into this high-energy panel to compare two outstanding Databases: MySQL and MongoDB.

Come be a part of it (bring popcorn).

Prerequisite: There is no prerequisite for this session, however there will be a fair amount of technical language used (parents are strongly cautioned). ;)
